Socialism schism

Socialism schism

I find myself feeling as though I need to defend everything I am and think, as if its all up for debate. This was something I posted on fakebook last night and one of the responses I received that was quite lovely.

And I leave you buttholes with this:

so·cial·ism noun \ˈsō-shə-ˌli-zəm\

Definition of SOCIALISM

1: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods
2: a : a system of society or group living in which there is no private property
b : a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state
3: a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done

Why yes, that’s right! It’s just another form of TAXATION!

(WHICH GOVERNMENTS REQUIRE TO WORK.)

FUUUUUCCCCKKKKKK

As soon as I have enough to share more, I will. I promise. If I didn’t want to do my part, pay my share and be “socialist,” I’d have been a f**king counselor. Get off my nuts.

Explaining Socialism to a Republican

And this I just saw!

As if anyone wants to think about politics anymore.

But in case you do, I have a few little things to say.

I am still waiting for the Just for Men PR disaster  that I predicted last December. BUT as frightened as I am that Romney just might effing win, I must say that the Presidential election ISNT the only election that matters. WHEN Obama wins, he will be so much more able to do what he set out to do and wants to continue, if he has a Democratic majority house that will help him do it instead of a Republican led house that cock blocks him at every turn. YOU MUST VOTE for your Senators and Representatives, people!

A president is only as capable as the people around them allow them to be. If they are surrounded by people who will block bills and measures simply because there is an R or a D next to the writer’s name, we have a problem.

I don’t know how to fix that. Revolution perhaps?

Oy. That wont happen. We are a bunch of pansies, myself included. No one is storming the castle.

BUT we can make someone’s job easier by surrounding them with like minded policy creators.

Women. Men. Children. People going to college. People going to public school. People in labor unions. LGBTQ HUMANS. HUMANS who want to be married. HUMANS who want to have kids and need IVF. HUMANS who DON’T want to have kids and need affordable birth control. HUMANS who are in labor unions. HUMANS who are going to college. HUMANS who want equality. HUMANS who want to make choices about their own HUMAN BODIES! HUMANS who have student loans. HUMANS IN GENERAL! PAY ATTENTION!

Just a thought.

Read something. Think about it. Fill in some bubbles. Vote. For all the seats. If you don’t know who to vote for and are unwilling to do the research, message me. I will tell you who to vote for. Think of me as your own personal magic 8-ball political ad. 🙂

All the SOPA in the world isn’t going to wash me clean.

Standard

I understand what everyone is saying about it and how it’s intended to protect companies interests from piracy and blah blah….Even the President’s people say “While we believe that online piracy by foreign websites is a serious problem that requires a serious legislative response, we will not support legislation that reduces freedom of expression, increases cybersecurity risk, or undermines the dynamic, innovative global Internet. (http://mashable.com/2012/01/16/white-house-sopa-petition/)

The conspiracy theorist in me says SOPA and it will pass to keep us from organizing a revolution. How many revolutions were recently organized via Twitter and similar sites. Just something else to undermine the Constitution. Add this onto the Patriot Act….Ol’Dubya loves it…Are these the countries we want to share company with: Turkmenistan, Vietnam, Tunisia, Syria, People’s Republic of China, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Cuba, Burma, and North Korea?  (http://listverse.com/2010/10/02/top-10-countries-that-censor-the-internet/)

I don’t know. I am becoming quite disenchanted with the entire governmental world. I don’t think it matters who we vote for or what we do, shit is going to happen however “THEY” want it to. Look at the Occupy Movement, look at the internet’s role in it and its progression. They don’t want that again. They saw the power of small groups and the expression of groupthink and they underestimated the power of small groups. We may be a generation of ADD and we may seem apathetic. Many may not know who Margaret Mead is, but  they are beginning to understand her words:

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever does”

Look out Big Brother. Just like the drinking gourd songs and all other movements with secret codes and Speakeasys we can do something even if you make it more difficult….

Ah crap! I digressed and made this totally different from what I intended…. Oh well, if you want to do something and feel like you didn’t sit here and watch your rights get chipped away, add your name to this:

It won’t put your name on a list it wasn’t already on 🙂

And so it begins, the end is near? 2012 and junk…

Standard

So I was thinking about the hoopla surrounding 2012 and all the varying thoughts/theories on it. Is it the end? Is it a shift in consciousness? Zombie Apocalypse? Are the aliens coming? Did I really fail to get recruited by the Illuminati in time? Were the Mayans just bored and decided to stop? Are the Reptilians coming? Is the 12th planet coming into our scope? Phone home Nibiru? Is the rapture coming? Is it a metaphorical end? Is it when Walter comes to know Walternate? Is Alex Jones right? Is Tom Cruise right? Was Zecharia Sitchin right? Will the election trigger the end? Will there be mail service in the FEMA camps? Is the NWO using the 2012 hype as a mass distraction put their own evil agendas into action? I don’t know. AAAAAGGGGHHHHH these are the thoughts that consume my brain power when I am not in school with required reading! And you wonder why I frequently am an insomniac…..

Anyone who knows me knows I am a little bit of a conspiracy theorist and suspects I wear an aluminum foil hat (when anyone who knows anything knows that you have to use TIN foil, duh). What I do know is that the first time I heard anything about the 12-21-2012 date was when I was pregnant with my son, 15 years ago. My best friend and her husband, Brian, were living with us and we spoke about it at length several times. I am not sure where he had even heard of it but since he was originally from California, I probably just assumed that being as sophisticated and worldly as being Californian makes you that everyone there knew. Ha. How naive I was, in all of my pregnant 16-year-old glory…

I digress.

Regardless, December 21, 2012 seemed like a science fiction date then. “In the year 2012….” cue the action movie score…..Now it is here and I am not sure what to think. I have made preparations for at least 6 scenarios; another 3 I have decided require no action on my part. Given my geographic location, those scenarios pretty much guarantee my imminent death. I have made peace with that.

In the event that life doesn’t change, my 2nd anniversary goes on without a hitch and my student loans remain a blemish on my soul, I wish you a premature Happy Solstice!

What are your plans for 2012? Life as usual?

Um, leave the 99% out of it!

I have tried very hard to stay out of the whole “occupy” conversation. When they occupied the parks, I heard the arguments about a utopian society being created before our eyes, the beginning of a revolution, this that and whatever.

But it fell apart. The homeless moved in, some who have REAL LIFE mental health issues, addiction issues, not to mention other health issues. Combined with the overall antiestablishment tones and emotions, drugs, wannabe anarchist temperaments, V for Vendetta and the 5th of November, pent up anger over the “resolved” recession it was a recipe for disaster. And it was. Rapes, unnoticed deaths, clashes, etc. And the message was……

I’m still not sure. We are poor you are not, give us some money? I don’t know. I think I get what they were going toward….I understand class war. I understand what the people who are asked on camera are talking about, the spokespeople get it, mostly…But what about the rest of the groupthinking masses?

What about the parks? Who is going to pay to fix them? US

What about the damage? Who is going to fix them? US

The occupiers say, “…We trashed it! Pay us to fix it and clean it up!”

Seriously? That circular logic work for you very often? Are you fu*king kidding me?

I digress.

What about the 99% who are losing their jobs or being prevented from doing it while you create a 1960’s esque story to tell your grandkids?

Occupy Pdx RIGHT NOW is blocking the Portland Ports, and even more of the west cost ports, all the way up to Alaska. Um, these are longshoremen, truckers, construction workers, dock workers, welders, etc. NOT CORPORATE CRONIES! Leave the unions alone. Leave the middle class people alone. F**K

Preventing the working class from working hurts the working class, not the corporate greed. Think about it.

the “debate”

Standard

So since I have people NOT being bitchy but bitching about me not having written a new post I should be thankful that people want to read what I am writing and be assuaged to ignore my carpal tunnel 😛 Ahem.

I’ve often joked that I am going to run for president. I have also stated that my main platform would be mandatory sterilization at birth until you can prove yourself worthy of parenting. Naysayers have said that this is no different than Eugenics and that I should essentially be tarred and feathered for saying so. My plan says nothing of race, intelligence, ethnicity, religion or anything else. Its across the board equally sterilizing ALLLLLL PEOPLE. However, I do not believe that these people realize the amount of money and time and care and sorrow and blah blah blah goes into the equation. I have worked with so many parents who should never have been allowed to breed. They are terrible people who do the most horrendous things to children.

I digress.

I could write a whole HUGE blog on that, I may come back and do that later; but my initial prompt for this was the lighthearted yet enormous debate debacle that I watched last night from Iowa…my point being that I don’t think that my platform would be too terrible given (according to last night’s “debate”) Bachmann showed me all I have to do is chant” Win Win Win” to do it.

I (sad to admit these days) am a registered republican. I vote pretty independent and the longer I live, the more I lean toward conservative democrat, but upon registering at 18, I chose the big red R.  So, that makes me qualified to make predictions based upon the debate. Here they are:

Ron Paul is the smartest and most valid R candidate; but he is a weird guy. No matter how many times I vote for him he simply will not ever be president. This saddens me, but it is what it is.

Rick Perry is good ol’Dubya’s replacement. I hope only once. Really. He frightens me almost as much as Palin did. I predict he has some crazy drunken scandal, like giving an important speech walking on his lips which makes him have to withdraw like Cain (thank sweet ancient baby alien Space Monkey Jebus for that). Oh wait…didn’t he already? Hmm….Damn.

Rick Santorum I believe is secretly going to roman style bathhouses accompanied by a couple incredibly famous family men who belong to the L. Ron Hubbard fan club. He will be exposed by paparazzi, blame meth and the devil, apologize and disappear. (PHEW another bullet dodged.)

Mitt Romney will experience a PR disaster in which his wife, trying to make him more attractive gives him too dark of a “Just for Men” shampoo which causes his wise man grey temples to go black; ridding him of all plausibility and breaking the spell his magnificent gray temples had casted which glamoured people into believing his seeming pastoral leadership qualities…. despite his George Hamilton fake tan.

Michele Bachmann. Oy. Oy. Oy. Part of me wants to like her. She must be somewhat intelligent, having gone to law school and passed the bar. And she is a fruit fly, just like me. But that’s where the similarities end for me. Her gay husband has apparently cured himself, being a counselor who cures “the gays.” And they take in foster kids! In addition to all their own! These people are Christian saints!

Except for her whole “You have a teacher talking about his gayness. (The elementary school student) goes home then and says “Mom! What’s gayness? We had a teacher talking about this today.” The mother says “Well, that’s when a man likes other men, and they don’t like girls.” The boy’s eight. He’s thinking, “Hmm. I don’t like girls. I like boys. Maybe I’m gay.” And you think, “Oh, that’s, that’s way out there. The kid isn’t gonna think that.” Are you kidding? That happens all the time. You don’t think that this is intentional, the message that’s being given to these kids? That’s child abuse.”

“If you’re involved in the gay and lesbian lifestyle, it’s bondage. It is personal bondage, personal despair and personal enslavement.”

“Don’t misunderstand. I am not here bashing people who are homosexuals, who are lesbians, who are bisexual, who are transgender. We need to have profound compassion for people who are dealing with the very real issue of sexual dysfunction in their life and sexual identity disorders.”

But I suppose, if differences in sexuality were accepted, her husband would be out of a job….oops. Guess she better sway policy her direction. I predict once her husband is caught in Aspen with Larry Craig, she will become a proponent for real equal rights.

Newt Gingrich. FML. He knows the lingo and the names to drop and the times to drop them. But he thinks that ALL poor children come from poor neighborhoods broken homes and lazy people. He wants them to be able to work as soon as they are able. He thinks child labor laws are stupid. Other than perhaps on his back and his ass, I don’t see a lot of work ethic from him. Seems he’s teaching his children (or his wive’s? mistress’s? children?) how to collect large sums for practically no work and how man-up, divorce your wife and marry the other woman. He avoided Vietnam. I bet this made his adopted father really happy, given he was a career military guy. Plus, Newt pisses foreign leaders off. He speaks out of turn. Rude.

But he’s up in the polls. People seem to trust him. President Gingrich hopefully won’t pick Santorum as his VP. Obama couldn’t fix the fucked up crap Bush left him in the amount of time people who don’t get it wanted him to so they will vote away from him. It’s sad. Another term might have gotten us somewhere with Obama.

Sigh, maybe I should run Charlie Sheen could be my VP. Then we could say “WINNING, WINNING, WINNING!”

Vote Jani Belcoe, 2027.
